Decorating with Wall Mirrors & Tips for Hanging Mirrors

With the holidays right around the corner, now is a good time to spruce up your home.  One of the easiest ways to get a new look is with wall mirrors.  Some of the best designers around recommend strategically placing mirrors in smaller rooms to obtain a larger feel.  You will also want to use frameless mirrors in low light areas to brighten the room with reflected light.  I’ve also noticed that in new homes, the designer are placing  large,  leaner mirrors in the master bedrooms, and wow what a difference,  the mirrors make the rooms look so luxurious.

The best part of all is how easy mirrors are to hang.  On the back of most of our mirrors you’ll find two D hooks (they will already be installed on the mirror) there will be a small package containing two J hooks with long nails ( the J hooks get nailed into the wall)

Ok, now I’ll give you my time saving tips and tools needed.

Things you’ll need:

  1. lipstick or chalk
  2. tape measure
  3. hammer
  4. small level (the level is not a must have but sure makes it easier)
  5. pencil

The first thing you need to do is figure out were you’ll be hanging your new mirror and how high.  Once thats accomplished grab your level and place it on the wall were the bottom of the mirror will be,  take the pencil and draw a line along the level.  Next take your lipstick and rub it on the D hooks that are already attached to the back of the mirror.  Pick the mirror up put the bottom on the pencil line you drew,  and press gently were the D hooks are,  now remove the mirror and you’ll see two lipstick marks.  Next take the J hooks place them were your lipstick outlines are grab your hammer and nail them in.  Hang your mirror and your done.  It really is that easy.  Best of luck to you and happy holidays!
